The vent can be used as a fresh air intake vent by simply removing the damper. When attached and not in use, the damper stays closed and works with the screen to protect against birds and other animals. Made of HIPS (high-impact polystyrene) plastic material for durability. Allows for max exhaust airflow with minimum back pressure for efficient use. Remove damper to change the vent into a fresh air intake vent. Spring-loaded damper stays closed when not in use. Screen prevents birds and other animals from entering and nesting. UV inhibitor helps prevent premature fading. Paintable when prepped prior to painting. Plastic paint is recommended. Installation screws are not included. Backed by the manufacturers 1-year limited warranty.
